APD Dons Denim for a Cause
October 11, 2010 - Visitors to Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital on Friday, October 7 noticed an addition to the usual scrubs, stethoscopes and suits worn by physicians and staff: denim. The hospital chose to participate in Lee National Denim Day.
Each year, employees at participating organizations wear denim to work in exchange for a $5 donation to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. One hundred percent of every dollar raised through Lee National Denim Day goes directly to support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs that might otherwise go unfunded. This year, APD raised $550 in contributions.
