Swine Flu Public Inquiry Line

In response to the international outbreak of a new strain of swine influenza (flu) in humans, New Hampshire Governor John Lynch has established a telephone inquiry line for the public. People who have questions about the outbreak, possible symptoms, travel information or other issues related to this illness can call 1-888-330-6764 between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. daily.

2009 Annual Giving Program

Make an Annual Gift (print and return to APD)

The spirit of philanthropy remains at the heart of Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital, which was founded with the gift of Alice’s homestead to citizens of Lebanon. Our community’s generosity continues to ensure the hospital’s viability and forward march. One of APD's most important sources of sustaining support is the Annual Giving Program, which helps us address some of our most pressing needs.

The 2009 Annual Giving Program offers a very special opportunity for you to help us better serve the community’s women.

We all know someone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer, and many of us know someone who has not survived this dreaded disease.
But did you know that
  • New Hampshire and Vermont are among the seven states with the highest incidence of breast cancer
  • Mammography is the single most effective method of screening and early detection of breast cancer
  • Early detection through mammography does more than increase survival rates, it gives women more options for treatment
Gifts to this year’s Annual Giving Program for unrestricted purposes or the Medical Equipment Fund will be used to help us purchase a digital mammography machine -- technology that comes at a high price – more than $350,000. Although expensive, this new equipment will provide significantly improved digital imagery for the many women for whom film mammograms are not the best option.

You may support this purchase by clicking on the following link (Make an Annual Gift (print and return to APD)

Of course, you may also choose to direct your annual contribution to one of the other two areas designated for annual support:
  • The Nursing Education Fund, providing career-enhancing educational opportunities to our outstanding nursing staff

  • The Harvest Hill Fund, which provides resources for APD’s independent and assisted living retirement community
