Ways to Support APD
Annual Giving Program
The Annual Giving Program is the foundation of all philanthropy at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital. Annual gifts may be unrestricted (the “General Fund”) or designated for medical equipment or nurses’ training. The General Fund supports hospital operations and helps APD provide for other priority needs like charity care for patients who are unable to pay their medical bills. Every gift is important to the hospital
and every gift, large or small, makes a difference.
YOU can help us grow Annual Giving at APD
The Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation has generously pledged to match $25,000 in gifts to the Annual Giving Program until the end of the fiscal year, September 30, 2013.
When you contribute to the Annual Giving Program, you join hundreds of others who each year choose to care for themselves, their neighbors, and the community. That is what financial support of APD does – it touches many lives. Your gift to the Annual Giving Program (AGP) helps us care for some of our most vulnerable citizens who cannot afford medical care; it helps to keep APD’s rates the lowest in the state; it enables us to keep equipment up-to-date with advances in medicine; and it funds continuing education and training for our nurses.
Whether you have given to APD before, or have never given, this is a great time to make a contribution. Your gift will make double the difference to the hospital’s ability to continue providing high quality healthcare for all.
GIVING MADE EASY – Monthly Gifts
Please consider becoming a sustaining donor to the Annual Giving Program. With the cost of mailing and printing increasing, we are looking for ways to save money and put the majority of your contributions to work in helping our patients. You can elect to become a sustaining donor with monthly, quarterly, or annual charges to a credit or debit card in the amount you choose. This way you will always be a current donor to APD and you will help us save our resources to continue serving the community. Your sustaining gift will qualify for the Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation match until September 30, 2013.

Planned Giving: A Gift of Permanence
When you remember APD in your estate plans, you help to ensure the long-term financial strength and ongoing quality of the healthcare we provide. We can help you and your attorney or financial advisor design a plan that preserves your commitment to your family, while also fulfilling your desire to support APD.
When you let us know that you have made a provision for APD in your will or through another type of planned gift, you will be invited to become a member of The Homestead Society. Named after the home that Alice Peck Day bequeathed to the Lebanon community to create a hospital, The Homestead Society honors those who choose to leave a legacy gift to APD.
