Alice Peck Day Health Systems Announces Board Appointments

February 14, 2013—At the annual meeting of the Alice Peck Day Health Systems Incorporators on December 12, 2012 and the Alice Peck Day Health Systems Corp. Board of Trustees on January 29, 2013 changes to the composition of the APD Incorporators and the Board of Trustees were announced.

Newly elected to the Board of Incorporators: Michael Long, Robert Bauman, Jim and Brooke Adler, Deming Holleran, Susan Almy, Lemont Richardson, Steve Silver, Dennis Mitchell, Terry Boone, Margaret Cheney, Paul and Wendy Manganiello and Allan and Myra Ferguson.

Newly appointed to the Alice Peck Day Health Systems Corporation Board of Trustees and to the Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees for three year terms: Hildegard Ojibway and Wendell Smith.

Hildegard Ojibway has worked in Upper Valley community service organizations for the past 25 years including as the Executive Director of the Good Neighbor Health Clinic and Red Logan Dental Clinic and previously with LISTEN Community Services.  Ojibway also served in the Vermont House of Representatives, assigned to the Health Care Committee in 2007-08.  She has been a board member for several local nonprofit organizations and was a founding member of Twin Pines Housing Trust and Good Neighbor Health Clinic. Ojibway holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of New Orleans and a Bachelor of Arts in Minority/Majority Group Relations from Michigan State University. She lives in Hartford, Vermont with her husband Bruce Duthu. They have three grown children and two grandchildren. 

Wendell Smith is the Founder and President of Polestar LTD - International Consultants and Investors and is currently managing Technology Transfer Group, a division of Polestar engaged in licensing and consulting in Security Printing technologies. Smith has many accomplishments in the printing industry including the leading the growth of Baldwin Technology from $2.5M revenues to $250M with operations in five countries.  He has also actively served in community affairs in Stamford Connecticut, including Stamford Hospital Board, several associations in Bermuda and is now active with several Upper Valley organizations including the Shaker Museum and the First Congregational Church of Lebanon. Smith holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Dartmouth College. He and his wife Margaret (Ginger) McGregor raised their five daughters Stamford, Connecticut. They now reside in Enfield, NH and have ten grandchildren and support nonprofit endeavors through their Wendall and Margaret Smith Foundation.

Confirmed to the 2013 Slate of Officers for the Alice Peck Day Lifecare Center Inc. Board of Trustees: Richard Jennings, Chair, Roney Hoffman, Vice Chair, Judson Pierson, Treasurer and Rev. Dr. Guy Collins, Secretary.

Reappointed to the Alice Peck Day Health Systems Corporation Board of Trustees and to the Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees for three year terms: Judson Pierson, Karen Kayen, Richard Jennings, Bruce Johnstone and Mark Melendy.

New staff members were also welcomed to the boards: Randall Lea, MD, MPH, Vice President and Chief Medical Officer joined the Alice Peck Day Health Systems Corp. Board of Trustees and the Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees. Corinne McCandless, RN, MPH, Administrator, Harvest Hill joined the Alice Peck Day Lifecare Center Board of Trustees.
