APD Earns National Excellence in Healthcare Award
May 6, 2011—Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital was recognized with a 2011 Professional Research Consultants (PRC) Excellence in Healthcare Award. The award is based on patients’ perception of care and was presented this week at the PRC Excellence in Healthcare Conference in Omaha, Nebraska.
The 5-Star Award Winner for Overall Quality of Inpatient Care is awarded annually to hospitals that score in the 90th percentile. Patients were surveyed via a confidential phone interview by PRC, a nationally-known healthcare marketing research company, to assess their perceptions of hospital operations and patient care.
“We are pleased to be recognized and this award is proof that APD is committed to patient satisfaction and improving healthcare,” comments Beverley Rankin, RN, MSA, BC-NE, Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer. “It takes years of determination, dedication, and hard work to build patient loyalty and to achieve this level of success.”
