APD Receives Prestigious SHARP Certification Renewal
June 27, 2011—Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital has again been officially recognized by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA’s) Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP). This award recognizes APD’s substantial and sustained commitment to outstanding workplace safety and health programs.
“Congratulations on this outstanding achievement,” states Governor John H. Lynch. “APD’s commitment to safety, dedication to improving employee’s health, and hard work in developing a skilled workforce are only a small part of what makes the organization such a great place to work.”
Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital has earned a three-year renewal, the highest level of renewal, of its SHARP status for “being the best of the best for worker safety and health,” states OSHA. APD was first named a SHARP site in 2006 and today is one of only five companies in New Hampshire to hold this award.
“Safety is of top importance at APD, we take it seriously,” states Alex Jaccaci, MA, CHEP, Associate Vice President of Organizational Improvement and Planning and the Safety Officer. “SHARP is difficult to earn and even harder to maintain as it requires continual improvement and demonstration of consistent safety performance. This award is the result of the hard work and dedication of each staff member at APD who makes safety a priority. It is our ongoing commitment to ensure APD is a safe place to work that makes the difference.”
Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital is an integrated health care system whose mission is to provide patient-focused care services that are responsive to community needs, promote wellness, and continually improve the quality of health care services in the Upper Valley community of New Hampshire and Vermont.
