APD to Strengthen Upper Valley Presence

May 29, 2014

Lebanon, NH  – Alice Peck Day Health Systems (APD) has created a new department in order to strengthen its presence in the Upper Valley of Vermont and New Hampshire.  Known as External Affairs, this department will integrate the work of the Development, Communications, Community Health, and Volunteer Services departments.

“The goal is to create an integrated program that improves communication about APD and builds support for our work,” said Sue Mooney, President and CEO of APD, “This is particularly important as we look to our future as a community-focused healthcare provider that is affiliated with Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.”

The new department will be led by Peter Glenshaw, who will serve as Associate Vice President for External Affairs. Peter is a longtime Upper Valley resident who brings 25 years of experience in communications, development, and community relations with Harvard University, Dartmouth College, and Vermont Law School.  He was the director of community relations at Dartmouth and the most recently served as director of communications at Vermont Law. He is currently a board member with the Lyme Foundation, and has served the Upper Valley in many non-profit and civic volunteer roles. Peter joined APD on May 19th.

“This is a terrific moment for APD to build upon its strong community roots in the Upper Valley,” said Glenshaw, “and I look forward to working with the leadership, friends, volunteers, and supporters of APD towards that goal.”
