APD welcomes Director of Medical-Surgical Nursing Kimberly Smith
October 28, 2011—Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital is pleased to welcome Kimberly Smith, MSN, RN, ACNS-BC, GCNS-BC, CPHQ, as the Director of Medical-Surgical Nursing.
Smith is a Registered Nurse (RN) who holds a Master’s in Nursing Administration (MSN), is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Health and Gerontology (ACNS-BC, GCNS-BC) and is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ). She brings extensive medical and surgical nursing experience from a variety of medical centers, most recently Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA and Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH.
“Kimberly is a wonderful addition to the nursing team at APD,” states Beverley Rankin, RN, BSN, MSA, BC-NE, Vice Patient Care Services & Chief Nursing Officer. “Her leadership and teaching experience combined with her vast medical expertise will benefit both our patients and our nursing staff.”
Smith is currently an Assistant Professor in Nursing at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, NH where she also plans to complete her Doctorate of Arts in 2012.
