David Kroner, MD, Earns Recertification

February 25, 2011  -  Alice Peck Day Hospital is pleased to announce that surgeon David Kroner, MD, FACS, has passed the recertification exam administered by the American Board of Surgery, which is completed every ten years.

Dr. Kroner has been practicing as a board certified general surgeon for over 30 years and specializes in hernia procedures, abdominal surgery (including laparoscopic cholecystectomy and hernia colonoscopy), and breast surgery. He graduated from the Medical College of Virginia in 1974, completed his surgical residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center, San Antonio in 1979, and has been practicing in the field of general surgery ever since.  He joined the APD staff in 1985.

The recertification exam is required to ensure that a physicianís knowledge base remains current.  "Board recertification requires a high level of knowledge and experience in the specialty, and is a highly regarded achievement for members of our medical staff," says Sue Mooney, MD, MS Vice President and Chief Medical Officer. "Dr. Kroner is a skilled surgeon and we are fortunate to have him in our health community."
