Our Health Care Team
Nurse-midwives undergo training and education that grants them a special ability to understand the unique physical, social, and spiritual needs of women. They deliver safe and personalized health care; not just for childbirth, but at all stages of a woman’s life. Midwife means “with woman.”
Alice Peck Day’s three Certified Nurse Midwives operate independently in their own Lebanon office but remain connected with the OB-GYN physicians and services at The Women’s Care Center at APD, ensuring that if a woman needs a specialist’s care, she will receive a quick and easy referral.
At Women's Care Midwifery we offer care care that respects you, your family, and your beliefs. We provide a full range of services to keep women healthy.
We provide comprehensive pregnancy and birth care. We work with you to enhance your health during pregnancy and beyond through nutrition, exercise, stress management, and appropriate medical care.
We work closely with OB/GYN physicians at the Women’s Care Center and have access to any necessary testing such as laboratory and ultrasound services. We have a low c-section rate (8.5 percent) and offer continued support if c-section is needed.
During labor and birth we:
- Provide emotional support
- Suggest positioning and comfort measures
- Support your choices for your birth plan
- Support natural childbirth as well as several medical pain relief options
- Offer the option of waterbirth for relaxation and comfort
We believe education is one of our most powerful tools, and one that will help you make informed choices that are right for you. We believe birth is a very special time—one of great challenge and fulfillment, and we work to provide you and your baby with a safe and satisfying experience. Your family is welcome to support you through all stages of your pregnancy.
