Our Team

Our team of professionals diagnoses and treats a variety of orthopaedic conditions including hip and knee disorders, arthritis, athletic injuries, overuse injuries, and common fractures or dislocation. 


Dr. Leonard Rudolf is an orthopaedic surgeon performing knee  arthroscopies and hip and knee joint replacements, with a sub-specialty in treatment of the lumbar spine. Dr. Rudolf also performs a new technique,  SI joint fusion, to manage SI (sacroiliac)  joint pain. He received his  medical degree from the University of Besançon, France, serving  orthopaedic residencies at Jewish Hospital in Brooklyn, New York and Medical Center and Harlem Hospital Center in New York, New York. He completed his internship at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn and a fellowship in Spine Surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York.





Dr. John Houde brings 15 years of experience as a board certified Orthopaedic Surgeon, specializes in general orthopaedics and sports medicine. He is a graduate of Dartmouth Medical School and completed his residency and  fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. He also served in the U.S. Air Force as an Orthopaedic Surgeon. His clinical interests include shoulder and knee arthroscopy as well as total joint replacements and sports related injuries. Dr. Houde resides in Meriden, NH and was recently affiliated with Valley Regional Hospital.






Dr. Ivan Tomek specializes in total joint replacement and has been practicing in the Upper Valley since 2003. Dr. Tomek received his medical degree from Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS, Canada followed by a residency in orthpaedic surgery at McGill University, Montreal, PQ, Canada. His fellowship took place at the Hospital for Special Surgery, Cornell University, New York, NY, with emphasis on adult reconstruction (joint replacement). That training culminated in board certification in orthopaedic surgery with the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada.

Physician Assistants

Alexandra J. Angelo, MPAs, PA-C joined APD in 2016 as a Physician Assistant. She is originally from McKees Rocks, PA, and received her Master of Physician Assistant Studies and her undergraduate degree in Health Science at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA.








Joel Dizon, MPAS, PA-C is a graduate of the California State University in Chico, California where he earned his undergraduate degree in exercise physiology.  A certification as Emergency Medical Technician preceded his receiving a MA in physician assistant studies at Oregon Health & Science University  in Portland, Oregon. Dizon previously worked in the emergency department at the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington from 2006 to 2010 and the Access Community Health Center in Madison, Wisconsin from 2010 to 2012.  Since 2012, Dizon has focused on sports medicine, foot and ankle and joint replacement as part of Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center Orthopaedic group.    





Rebecca Van Dolah, MPAS, PA-C, MA, ATC joined APD in 2013 as a Physician Assistant. She received her undergraduate degree from Lyndon State College in Lyndonville, VT, a Master's degree in physical education from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI, and a Master's degree in physician assistant studies from Franklin Pierce University in Lebanon, NH. Van Dolah is certified as a Physician Assistant by the New Hampshire Board of Medicine and licensed as a Physician Assistant in Vermont. Prior to coming to APD, Van Doolah was an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Dartmouth College with responsibilities that included the following Dartmouth athletic teams: men's and women's cross-country, track and field, and swimming and diving; football, women's soccer, basketball, softball, and crew.




Sarah Liegl, MPAS, PA-C, MPH performs clinic evaluations and treatment of orthopaedic-related injuries, follow-up care of orthopaedic patients and assists with orthopaedic surgical cases. Sarah works under the direction of Dr. Leonard Rudolf, who has been a distinguished surgeon at APD for over 25 years. She holds a Master of Science in physician assistant studies from Albany Medical College in New York. She also earned a Master of Public Health degree in environmental studies and epidemiology form Northwest Ohio Consortium of Public Health in Toledo, Ohio.  Her undergraduate studies were in zoology and african studies at the University of Wisconsin.
