APD Earns SHARP Renewal through OSHA’s Onsite Consultation Program

Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital (APD) was recognized again last month by the U.S. Department of Labor as a model for worksite safety and health by the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP). This year marks that 12th year that APD has been a part of this program.

SHARP recognition represents APD’s successful participation in a comprehensive on-site consultation survey, correction of any hazards identified during this review, and the operation of an effective safety and health program.

“Our workforce places a very high priority on safety at APD, and we’ve worked diligently to receive this SHARP renewal,” said Brenda Blair, chief operating officer at APD. “We are pleased to be seen as a model for worksite safety and health,” she added.

“Through daily safety huddles, our safety committee, the safer needle device program, and new hire orientation, APD has created a culture of safety and health in our organization,” said Blair.

APD is one of only eight SHARP sites in New Hampshire.
