Rebecca Courtemanche joins APD as “Upper Valley Smiles” Program Coordinator
APD is pleased to announce the addition of Rebecca Courtemanche as Coordinator of the Upper Valley Smiles school-based oral health program. Courtemanche will serve as the dental assistant in schools, provide care coordination for children needing restorative treatment in a dental office, and manage the administrative functions of the program.
Upper Valley Smiles is a unique program offered by APD. Now in its tenth year, Upper Valley Smiles is a school-based oral health program for children enrolled in the Lebanon, Enfield, Canaan, Cornish, Hartford, and Hartland elementary schools and the Richards School in Newport, NH. The Upper Valley Smiles dental team visits each school annually, providing classroom education, dental screenings, fluoride varnish, temporary restorations and sealant applications, all at little or no cost to parents.
Courtemanche, who resides in White River Junction, Vermont, recently completed her Associates degree through the Community College of Vermont, and is currently working on her BS in Health Care Administration at Franklin Pierce University.
“I am very pleased that Rebecca has joined our team.” said Nancy DuMont, Director of Community Health at APD. “Her pediatric dental office experience and her education will undoubtedly support the continued success and growth of Upper Valley Smiles,” she added.
