Aida Cerundolo, MD
Emergency Medicine
I derive immense satisfaction from helping others. I feel at home in the emergency department, where I can help people when they are in the most need.
Patients want to understand what their medical issues are and what they can do to get better, but are often too intimidated to ask questions. I take extra time to talk with them, to explain things clearly, and try to diffuse their anxiety with a warm approach.
Though there is only one person on the stretcher, family members are also affected by a patient's illness or trauma, and this impact can manifest as confusion, fear and anxiety. Good communication goes a long way in alleviating some of this discomfort for the patient and their family members.
I do my best to make a positive difference with each patient encounter. A smiling patient and family help me know I’ve done my job well.
