Dartmouth Health hospitals awarded for high performance in revenue cycle

Map Award

Three Dartmouth Health member hospitals were recipients of MAP Awards at the Healthcare Financial Management Association’s (HFMA) 2026 Revenue Cycle Conference. Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital, New London Hospital and Cheshire Medical Center were recognized for high performance in revenue cycle achievement.

“The HFMA MAP Award recognizes Dartmouth Health’s revenue cycle and the operational excellence we provide to our rural community, particularly critical access hospitals,” said John D. Muhlen, Dartmouth Health’s vice president of corporate finance. “Our leadership in the revenue cycle field, with over 1,000 critical access hospitals nationwide, demonstrates our efficient administrative functions, which allow us to focus on the patient care needed in rural areas throughout New Hampshire and Vermont. I am extremely proud of my team on this achievement and honored to be considered their leader.”

The MAP Award recognizes healthcare providers that have excelled in meeting industry standard revenue cycle benchmarks (MAP Keys), implemented the patient-centered recommendations and best practices embodied in HFMA’s Healthcare Dollars and Sense initiatives, focused their efforts on improving price transparency and achieved outstanding patient satisfaction. Awardees are acknowledged as industry leaders and share proven strategies with their colleagues.

“Achieving HFMA MAP recognition reflects a deep commitment to operational excellence and financial stewardship,” said Hunter Callahan, vice president of client success at Conifer Health Solutions. “We’re proud to partner with the exceptional teams at Dartmouth Health as they continue strengthening their revenue cycle capabilities across the system. Their focus on disciplined processes, data-driven decision making and continuous improvement is exactly what enables organizations to reach this level of national recognition.”

Created by and for healthcare leaders, HFMA’s MAP initiative sets the standard for revenue cycle excellence in the healthcare industry. MAP is a comprehensive strategy that allows organizations to measure revenue cycle performance using the industry-standard MAP Keys; apply evidence-based strategies for improvement; and perform to the highest standards to improve financial results and patient satisfaction.

“We want to congratulate these award winners for their dedicated efforts to strengthen the delivery and support of our healthcare system,” said HFMA president and CEO C. Ann Jordan, JD. “High performance in revenue cycle means these teams are building strong financial foundations, and that translates to protecting patient access and care. The MAP Awards are about more than metrics. They are about recognizing organizations that are moving the industry forward.”
