Aimee Claiborne, DA, MBA, is the chief human resources officer for Dartmouth Health, responsible for leading people strategies that enable quality patient care and operations for the multi-site health system comprised of 6 hospitals, including a leading academic medical center in partnership with the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, 30+ clinics, and 13,000 caregivers. 

With over 15 years of human resources experience, Claiborne is a strategic advisor on enterprise talent management, organizational change, leadership development, employee engagement and inclusion, executive compensation, and community development. Prior to her role as CHRO, Claiborne served as the vice president of total rewards and directed several HR functions, including HR business partners, shared services, workforce analytics, and employee health.

Prior to joining Dartmouth Health in 2010, Claiborne led teams at the New Hampshire Retirement System; the leading retirement benefit provider to municipal and state employees. She also led quality client services to several Fortune 500 companies at Fidelity Investments. Prior to her career in HR, she was a community-based social worker, providing case management and counseling services to psychiatrically acute adults. She has worked in in private, public and non-profit sectors and has focused on developing relationships that inspire positive change.

Claiborne serves as a Trustee on the Boards of the Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Vermont and New Hampshire; Colby Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire and West Central Behavioral Health in Lebanon, New Hampshire. She holds a Doctor of Arts in Organizational Health and Leadership from Franklin Pierce University, a Master’s in Business Administration, and Bachelors in Social Work. She is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management, American Society of Health Care Human Resources, and a governing council member of The Equity Collaborative within the Carol Emmott Foundation. She lives in New Hampshire’s Lake Sunapee region with her family.
